🌱 the window seat
I've always been a window seat person.
40,000 feet above the surface of Earth,
85% the speed of sound,
A journey of over 8000 miles, complete in hours,
The same journey that sailors trudged through for months.
How small our world has become!
One side of my neck starts to hurt as I gaze outside.
The ground grows smaller,
Stratus clouds resemble a mystical Antarctic landscape,
Cumulonimbus clouds birth lightning,
Millions of stars shine in the middle of the ocean.
How vast our universe really is!
But lately, I've been afraid of becoming an aisle seat passenger.
Neck free of stiffness,
Eyemask on during taxi, takeoff, and landing,
Headphones in as the pilot flying hits TO/GA,
Blissfully unaware of the view.
